New iPad Pro has LiDAR sensor, and apple provides developer API to scan 3D environment easily. So, I tried to explore iPad LiDAR scan by scanning and comparing various environments. I explored ARKit 4, scan techniques, and how to build 2D plan, using iPad Pro 4 and MacBook Pro.
What is SLAM?
In computational geometry and robotics, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) is the computational problem of constructing or updating a map of an unknown environment while simultaneously keeping track of an agent's location within it.
SLAM based Urban Mapping, irap KAIST
irap KAIST works on 3D urban mapping using cameras, LiDARs, and other inertial sensors. We use two different sensor systems for mapping, depending on the LiDAR configuration, 1) push broom style and 2) 360 tilted scanning style.
